New toy....

I've got a new 'toy'!

There's a lot to learn, but I will be reading the book that accompanied my new camera (woo hoo!!) to figure it all out.

In the meantime, I had a play with it, using the only child still at home - and therefore the most photographed one, as my model.

She chose about four places where she wanted to pose! We're creating a monster...
I've been doing plenty of sewing - just haven't had the chance to photograph a lot of it before giving it away, or in the case of practical things like new art smocks, sending them off to school.

Softer tones - taken indoor in daylight
But I'm around and will be back here soon...

Until then...

... say "Cheese"!

These are a bit soft - but I love the natural early morning 'bedtime' hair!

If you didn't get a 50mm 1.8 lens with your camera, I would get one. They are the cheapest lens, but they are great for portraits. They give really good bokeh (blurry background). It is the lens I use the most, especially when photographing the kids
