More finished business

Here's another one of those UFO's from my house that I finished while at blissful Sewjourn.

So glad I finally did this as it will only fit for part of the summer I suspect - but I adore this fabric.

I had a little bit of this fabric stashed away and then Toni sent me a little more, which I am yet to decide what to do with - it's so pretty.

It's by Laura Gunn - she's an artist whose paintings were translated into a fabric range, so each print has a really textural look.
Teamed with the favourite coordinate of course - Michael Miller Ta Dot in teal.

The pattern is the Retro Dress by That Darn Kat - looking at her blog and Etsy shop I am not sure if she's still selling her patterns??
Anyone know??

It's such a pretty style and fabric but nothing compared to the prettiness of your daughter! Delightful!

I adore that print. I always put in my 'cart' when I see it, but never seem to follow through with the purchase. Not sure why....

Hey I just made a similar dress to this from an Ottobre pattern. Mine was supposed to have a contrast band at the bottom too, but I accidently sped through the sewing and left it off. http://littlebettydesigns.blogspot.com/2010/12/fast-sewing-for-change.html

Oh my goodness! I used that same piece of fabric that Toni gave me for the same dress for my niece.

Isn't it freaky how alike we think sometimes??

That fabric is so very cute! but, gee I can't help but think the dress is being outshone by the bright shining smile of your little one. She is so very happy and gorgeous!

That dress is so cute - not to mention the child that is wearing it. I *heart* Laura Gunn fabric and cant bear to cut into mine. I dont have this print though - maybe time for a bit of shopping?

that is a really pretty dress Karen!! You may get more time out of it than you think - as they grow taller but not wider for a year at least.

can't believe how much she is like my little one :)

I have this pattern and would you believe that I am yet to make it up!

She is still on Etsy - but her blog seems to have died of late.

A beautiful combination. I have rather a hankering for some birdcage fabric too. Looks great. If you pop over to my blog you can see the first usage of one of the fabrics you sent me. Cherrie

I love it! I have the similar pattern by WGB, but on the WGB I don't like the way the yoke attaches so I have been putting off sewing another one. I should get over it because it is a very sweet style :)
