Fallen fairy...

This isn't the greatest pic - I had to sneakily take it without her noticing me...

I looked outside on the deck on the weekend when the girls were playing an imaginary game and this is what I saw.

This kid rarely stays still, so I watched for a minute and when she did not move I started to get a little concerned.

In the end I put my head out the door and asked the other two girls if she was OK.
Their response...
"Oh yeah, she's just dead."
"A bad witch came and killed that beautiful fairy, but she'll be all right later."

Whilst I am not loving this particular storyline,  I do love that they make up 'worlds' and plots and adventures together.

And I am pleased to say that this beautiful fairy was indeed all right later.

What great tales have been told at your place lately??

Great pic...my boy dressed up as Slenderman yesterday for muck up day....graduation for yr 12 today ...Arghhh. Perfect dress up for tall Asperger boy, as his face was covered, therefore no one sees him, right?

Hi Karen. I had a storyline similar to this just the other day...I was having an imaginary phone call with my four year old and on inquiring how her family were she replied bluntly: "they are all dead".

I love listening in to the narratives that the girls come up with - very entertaining and sometimes very, very funny.

I couldn't resist the title of this post! Poor fairy. But yes, I just love the imagination in games like this. Clem decided last night he wants to set up a 'shop' out the front and sell the padded coathangers I just bought at the Salvos!

What fantastic Role Play can be had among siblings. We have so many great ones that happen here too.

The best one recently was when all of the children in the street came over to play hockey in our backyard and my kids convinced them that our cat was evil. It was the noisiest, funniest, and biggest imaginary magical battle I have ever seen children take part in.

And despite her looks of disinterest, we all knew the cat loved it.

I love when kids use their imagination and make up stories to act out. Not much of that going on here lately but the younger 3 did go out to play yesterday and ended up helping a neighbor spread out a big truck load of dirt. It was all fun and games to them!:)

Oh my goodness... too many to mention. There are stories all day every day... starting to wonder if naming the first born with a name meaning "story teller" was such a smart idea after all.
