KCWC Days 6 and 7

Another good couple of days sewing-wise saw me cut out and start this little skirt (Day 6) and finish it all up today (Day 7).

This one is a gift for a party that we are about to head off to.

In the warmer months I made the ruffled skirt as a gift but have switched to this one today as the weather has turned cooler.

This is made in black denim (the same as my bag) and I used some Denyse Schmidt that I have had in my stash for ages as the trim.

A quick modelling shot before we wrapped it up.
Now that I know the bias strips for the edging do not actually need to be biased, (as they are going onto straight pieces not curves), I cut them on the straight grain - thus saving some fabric and also meaning they didn't need several joining points in them.

I am very glad I decided to take part in KCWC as it certainly motivated me!!
Thanks to Elsie Marley for hosting and providing lots of lovely inspiration.

One nightie, two skirts, two little bias-trimmed jackets and a long-sleeved T in a week - not bad going if I say so myself.

If you've been playing along leave me a comment so I can come and find out what you got up to.

That's it - I'm off upstairs to trace this pattern right now! And to learn how to use my binding attachment...

Love it, gee, your girls mates are lucky. Annie has a 10 year old birthday 'best friend' sleepover this weekend, wonder what I could 'whip up'...I think this would be a winner, I've been planning to make one for Annie too.

Sweet dress! Lucky recipient. Love the trim. I'm not playing along, but do you think that burp cloths count (you kinda wear them...)? :)

That is so sweet! Gosh, a little bit of embellishment on dark denim is such a good look. Even Snow White seems to think so... I think that's her peeping out of the greenery??

This skirt is sweet! I played along with KCWC, and I can hardly believe how much I got done, and how motivated I was! Such a cool idea. Kudos Meg @ Elsie Marley!

I love, love, love this pattern.

Do you think that it would make up in a cord??? I have some nice cord here that Amelia choose for a skirt and have no idea on a pattern. Thinking that I might have to get you to bring a few otto's to SIT:)

Love it! Is it the same pattern that you used for the other ruffle skirts. I think Ella needs a few of these for winter
