Birthday pigs

Next week our friend Lucia turns three and as she is a big fan of Olivia I hunted down some fabric when in Sydney to make her a library bag.

This was my first attempt at a bag, and luckily I got some great instructions from Cass and a few words of advice from our resident sewing 'expert' (my husband).

I'm pretty happy with how it turned out - though I've learned that when attempting something for the first time perhaps you should not try to do one with a stitched on name, two colour outer and ribbon embellishment!

The rest of her pressie is a very cute seed bag with a pansy seed pack in it from Mike's that I couldn't resist last week, a long sleeved top ready for winter which has some little Japanese girls appliqued on the front and a mushroom pencil roll.

I got the Japanese girls fabric as part of a 16th pack from Edna and Alice May that I also picked up at Mikes.

So I'm hoping this bag of goodies will make for a happy little birthday girl.

Karen it all looks great. I am itching for a trip to Melb to go to Mike's.

Such prettiness here. What little girl wouldn't love such a gift?

Karen - what a fabulous bag of gifts - lucky little girl! And I have to admit I snuck into Mikes on Wednesday when my conference finished before heading out to the airport...And since I was down at Dromana on the weekend we had the weekend papers and I am hopeless about which magazine I read it in but I did see one of your articles - so exciting to "know" the people who do things, like seeing Ingrid's Anna Smocks at Mikes.
