Sharing the love

The fabric love that is...

I was recently given some fabric and it prompted me to have a big huge clean-up of my stash.
Four hours worth in fact!

So now I want to share the fabric love with you.
These pieces of fabric are things that, I realistically have to say, I am unlikely to use in the forseeable future - because, well, I have too much really.

The Brights
If you'd like them to come and live at your place then just leave me a comment letting me know which set you'd like.
Fabulously Fruity

All pieces are quite big - I'd say a metre minimum, maybe more for some of them.

Got the Blues
So go on, live dangerously - leave a comment and say hi and maybe win something new for your stash.

I'll draw a winner on Friday November 19th.
Edited to add - I'm happy to send overseas so feel free to enter regardless of where you live!

Tuesday Tip

I'm playing along with Carmel's Tuesday Tip again this week, hoping a few more folk join in so we can get an encyclopaedia of sewing/crafting knowledge happening.

This is an oldie but a goodie - lots of you probably do it already but if you are new to sewing then add this to the final step when sewing elastic-waisted pants and shorts.
Before you sew the final seam to encase the elastic, add a small tab of ribbon to the back of the pants.

This makes it super-simple to find the back, particuarly handy when you are dressing a wriggling toddler.

I like to refer to it as 'daddy proofing' them.
I got tired of finding my girls walking around with their dacks on back to front!

If you are after some fabric to make some new pants check out this great giveaway at Fabric Shoppe.

Treat yourself

I've been lucky enough to meet some lovely crafty types at a handwork circle I've been going to at The Little Sparrow shop.

One of them is the very talented Kirstie or Princess Kirstie Jane as she is known in her blog.

She's recently completed making up kits you can use to make up her gorgeous felted brooches.

There are Love Birds, Owls, Mushrooms, a baby Butterfly and of course a Princess.
They use such goodies as 100% wool hand-dyed felt, upcycled fabrics and 100% cotton embroidery thread and include everything you need to make them - right down to the needle!
Check them out and give yourself a chance to win one by visiting here and leaving her a comment.
Well worth the effort I can tell you.

Good luck!
