I make no secret of it, I love a good book - there's nothing better than having a book you can't wait to get to each day, stealing moments when you can read...
...while you stir the dinner, waiting for the kids to get their shoes on, or stealing a page or two while you eat your lunch, and THE ROSIE PROJECT was one such book for me.

My friend then also mentioned Overdrive, and electronic catalogue of books that libraries make available to members.
I waited for two days and then got notification that it was available and had read and returned it before I would even have received it from the regular system. It is so quick and easy to use and I really don't know why libraries are not promoting it more, mine had never mentioned it to me...
So now I am onto my third Overdrive book and enjoying not having to wait so long to read popular new release titles.
Onto the book...
The Rosie Project is the story of Don, a University Associate Professor and, obviously, his quest to find a suitable life partner.
The character Don is a quirky and rather eccentric personality who would definitely be on the Autism Spectrum with his need for order and organisation including schedules for meals, shopping and life in general as well as his self-expressed social awkwardness.
If you enjoy the character Sheldon Cooper from the tv sitcom The Big Bang then you will love The Rosie Project as Don bears a number of similarities to Sheldon, but I feel he is far more lovable!
Are you an e-book reader?? Have you discovered Overdrive? Got any good reads to recommend to me??

Thanks heaps for the Overdrive tip, will check it out. My boss just finished this book, and I heard the author interview recently...have to add it to my reading list.
I love a recommendation!
Karen what device did you read the book on, I have the overdrive app on my iPad but have never used it.
I have also read The Rosie Project after a recommendation. I found it a bit too close to the bone, but insightful non the less.
I've never heard of overdrive - thanks for that....off to investigate! This is one book that's on my list.
I have overdrive on my phone, but I am pretty sure my library is not hooked up to it. I would need a membership to a different (metropolitan?) library, which is a bit tricky, but not impossible. Maybe I should work on that. The Rosie project is on my "maybe" list. I've been trying to get into Beautiful Lies by Clare Clark, but I think I will abandon it... we're just not hitting it off.
Had t laugh reading your description once taken up with a good book - I thought I was the only one who cooked whilst reading!! Shall have to look for overdrive. :)
Lovely blog. (via blogtoberFest)
Hello! I discovered your blog through Blogtoberfest and I love some of your posts so far =-)
Regarding this post about using ebooks and why your library might not be promoting it, is that the purchase of an ebook for a library is quite high compared to the cost for an individual. I discovered this in an article from Wired.com
I have not yet read through the entire article, but just reading that libraries pay more for an ebook was disheartening, and I am a HUGE book lover and library fan =-)
In the meantime, I look forward to stopping by your blog during the weeks ahead to see what other wonderful projects you are working on!
