Stitch and Yarn

Sewing anyone???

Lately I have been taking myself along to the lovely craft get togethers that are the Northern Craft Bonanza and it got me to thinking that an Eastern suburbs gathering might be fun.

So I got together with my friend 'blogless Judy' and here's what we came up with:

STITCH AND YARN (SAY)

Come along for a fun evening of crafting with likeminded others interested in all things cloth and fibre.

Whether you sew or quilt by machine or hand, crochet, knit, or weave macrame you are welcome to come along and work on your latest project, chat and enjoy an evening 'out'.

We're not craftily biased - any craft is welcome.

WHEN:
Starting Monday May 23rd, then the first and third Monday's of each month

WHERE:
The Avenue Neighbourhood House,  87 Eley Road, Blackburn South (Between Blackburn and Middleborough Roads)

FROM:
7.30pm - 10.00pm

COST:
$5 per person per session
(just pay when you arrive, no booking ahead or paying term fees or anything like that).

BRING:
Whatever you want to work on including your sewing machine if needed.
A small something to eat that can be shared, if you want to.
Any cold drinks you might want to have, tea and coffee are provided.
There will be an iron and ironing board provided and there are plenty of powerpoints.

RSVP: No need, just come if, and when you can.

It's open to anyone who wants to come, be they bloggy or non-bloggy types, extend the invitation.
Grab a friend and come along.

Wendy and Bronwyn thought it sounded like a good idea, and Lynda said she might like to come too, and hopefully Nicole will make it a regular haunt as well as crafty op shopping wonder Lyndel

Hopefully it's not too far for Cindy or Novy and they might come too - as well as a new girl on the Melbourne block, Cath.

Maybe we could convince some of the NCB girls to pop over for a visit once in a while too.

So how about you?
It would be lovely to meet you.

Oh no Karen, I was saying Tuesdays would be hard because of soccer practice, but Monday's are even harder for me! DS goes to Scouts Monday evenings and by the time I get the kids to bed, it would be late :(

But don't count me out yet, I might still be able to come - let me see how I can work this out.

I'll definitely come when I can! School council is the third Monday of the month so I won't be able to make those ones, but maybe the 1st Wed. Well done for organising everything and finding what sounds like a terrific venue!
