I see red

One item on the 'to do' list - done!

It's the 'Maya' blouse - Ottobre 1/2008 - design 4.

Made in red babushka fabric from Retro Mummy with red gingham trim from the stash and self-covered buttons.

As usual, on completing a garment I doubt my choices.
Right now I am wondering if the buttons are a little too large for this design, but I wanted to have a little doll on each button, so am prepared to live with my decision.

Now onto the pants... stay tuned.

  1. That is gorgeous - love your fabric choices. I am just about to attempt a similar style top from Ottobre - well when I can work out where I should be adding 1cm to the pattern and where I shouldnt - any tips?

I wish that all the back issues of that mag weren't sold out, so many cute patterns in it.

  10. Love that material and the little top you made. As for the size of the buttons, I think they're perfect. I don't think the idea that the buttons are too large (or too small) for the design is the right way of thinking. It's simply,if you like it and it looks good to you it's the right choice.

  11. Love the top. I've been meaning to make this top. I think the buttons need to be that size so you can get a doll on each one. It would be a shame to have them cut off.
