Remember these little fellas?

A mobile is a hard thing to photograph, so the pics are not that great.
I have been hoping the man of the house would lower the mobile for me but as that still has not happened I thought I would share the pics with you anyway.
This was a lovely project to work on as each of the birds is hand-sewn so I was able to do them in the car, at the hairdresser or just on the couch in the evening.
The pattern is available on the Spool sewing blog (in the sidebar, scroll down a little) which is where I saw it.
The branch came from a tree in our garden and then my father-in-law and I played around and balanced the birds and attached them with fishing line.

When it is in motion it has a lovely, gentle swirling action - which tends to almost hypnotise the youngest in the house.
She loves it - looks up at it when she's lying back feeding just before bed and now chats away to the birds when I lie her down to sleep.
Very cute mobile! I think it is sweet the G talks to the birds before going to sleep :)
ReplyDeleteI love the Moda fabric - wished I had bought some last time!
I love it! So gorgeous, and cute that Miss G talks to it too, awww.
ReplyDeleteVery effective and cute. :o)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat is soo cute Karen! another who wishes I bought some of that fabric when I first saw it on your blog
ReplyDeleteFinally! I have been hanging out to see this mobile, and I must say it was well worth the wait - simply STUNNING!!! Well done. Now I just need the motivation to get Madelyn's knitted bears all stitched up and hanging from her ceiling...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I made a slew of these for Easter ... so much fun. I'd like to make a mobile as well .. the kids are older, but I still think it would be lovely in their room.
ReplyDeleteI had such trouble closing up the tails ... any helpful hints?
Oh, Karen, I LOVE this mobile! So sweet. :o)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Karen, like the comments before me, I too love this mobile and the fabric combo's. Birds are just my fav thing at the moment!
ReplyDeleteOh that is just beautiful! SO cute that she talks to the birdies too *heart*
ReplyDeleteThat is gorgeous! It's such a shame you're without a camera, but then we wouldn't probably have gotten to see these. They would be very relaxing to watch.
ReplyDeleteTotally tweetalicious - love your mobile!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful those birds look. I wish I could get back into being creative with my sewing machine. I thought when I was to become a grandmother I would get the bug back, got a brand new machine, but really haven't done much but sheets for the bassinette and bunny rugs.
ReplyDeleteThat mobile is simply adorable - I think i'd like one above *my* bed of an evening !!
ReplyDeleteLove it.
Very cute. I would love one of those in my room! I am looking forward to seeing what you have been up to when you get a new camera :)
