Starting anew...

People often use the New Year as an excuse to start afresh - and I am doing the same.

It's time to rejuvenate my poor neglected blog and in some ways, apply the same thinking to my life.

I spent a lot of 2013 serving the needs of others and while there is always good to come from this, it left me feeling like there was not much space left for meeting my own needs... from a health perspective, from an intellectual perspective and from a creative perspective.

The Christmas break has provided me with time to reassess my goals; for life, for family, for me.

I'm kicking it off with a fresh new look for my blog.
Hope to share the highs, the lows and the challenges that 2014 brings with you.

I am just taking a break from doing the same thing ( a bit of a clean-clean .. tidy the house, clean up the blog :) )

I love the new clean fresh look! x

Love the new look for the blog Karen. Holidays do give some space to reassess, don't they - if you're not flat out planning for and looking after the needs of others, that is! A wise person told me that when your last child goes to school, don't try to fill up that year. Instead, give it to yourself as a year off for YOU. Keep things simple, and allow a whole year before you jump into doing things like school council, other committees, and commitments to others in general. I know you Karen and it won't be long before you over commit if you are not careful. Keep those goals in mind - doing some things for you. Big hugs and I look forward to seeing you soon.

The new look is clean and lovely! Here's to you looking after you - something I think all mums probably could be more mindful of.

oooh - very smart!!
Love the look and love that you have goals.
In my world it is more like a messy pile of ideas that get tossed around, mixed up, lost and found and then probably forgotten.
Perhaps I should follow your lead ….

Happy New Year Karen. Loving the look of the blog and I hear you sentiments about giving yourself some space and time this year to focus on your needs. Can't wait to see the outputs of your 'creative time'.
