While their birthday, celebrated three weeks and one day ago, is also very important - I always remember the day we were actually able to leave the hospital and bring the girls with us as the first day we both really felt like they were ours.
That's not to say the nurses and doctors who cared for them in the Special Care Nursery weren't great - they were wonderful caring people, it's just that having the babies under our roof was a huge milestone. We sat on the couch and each held one in our arms and just gazed at them sleeping for a while as we figured out what to do next!
So happy third homecoming my beautiful girls.
(Who would believe our 'babies' are now 2! Excuse their slightly dishevelled appearance, it was 39 degrees, with 30 people in the house).
